'Two' Wicked Party Inspiration

Updated: Jun 13

We can’t get enough of Wicked at my house - I swear we watch the movie at least once a day and listen to the soundtrack even more! 🙈 My girls love being Elphaba and Glinda - alternating between the two constantly. 🥹 My youngest especially loves Glinda and knows all the words to Popular. 💖 Her second birthday was coming up and there was no doubt in my mind that we should do this theme - which I cleverly titled ‘Two’ Wicked. 💚🩷 Check out all of the small party details below to get inspired for your next Wicked event - especially since we have another movie to look forward to at the end of the year. 🙌🏻

If you’re new to my blog - I tend to stick to just decorating my dining area as my girls are still little and it’s a great way to show others that you don’t need a lot of space to create Instagram worthy parties filled with magic for everyone. 🪄✨

I wanted this magical soiree to be the perfect mix of pink and green - a wickedly elegant set-up that was still two-year-old friendly. 💚🩷 I love how this look came together and it's honestly amazing how much a simple tablecloth and table runner can do to elevate your dining table.

The runner is actually Poly Chiffon Fabric from Hobby Lobby in Dark Green. Chiffon fabric is my secret to an effortless table runner at a low cost. I purchased four yards (at 50% off!) then folded and draped along the table like a runner. Doing this is not only cost effective - but the fabric is easy to wash, store, and reuse for future events. ❣️

I came across Emilia Enchanted on Etsy who has the cutest Wicked stickers and reached out for a custom birthday sign for my little to match our party theme. She is the sweetest seller and even let me customize the colors as well! I cannot recommend her enough - the sticker was gorgeous and worked perfectly the celebration! If you are wanting to have your own 'Two' Wicked party - she now has this exact vinyl sticker in her shop so you can create the same look at home! 😍

When it came to the place settings, Bonjour Fête had these items featured on their Wicked Party Ideas blog and I absolutely had to have them! 🙌🏻✨ For Elphaba, Emerald Green Signature Large Plates, Emerald Green Signature Bow Small Napkins, and Gold Signature Cups. 💚 For Glinda, Petal Pink Signature Large Plates, Petal Pink Signature Bow Small Napkins, and Petal Pink Signature Cups. 🩷

These Princess Crowns were the perfect touch for the Glinda place settings - while these Festooning Witch Party Hats from Meri Meri (no longer available) completed Elphaba's. I simply removed the orange decoration from around the base of the hat to create a cleaner look to match.

To have a coordinating cake stand, I purchased this Large Peony Pink Melamine Cake Stand. 🎂

I also love doing my own simple floral arrangements! 💐 I went to my local Hy-Vee - it's definitely a bonus that Valentine's is near her birthday - and picked up a couple small pink vases and some floral to create these matching arrangements to fill the table. 🌸✨ I finished off the decor with matching pink and green balloons. 🎈

I wanted to keep this cake simple (while still fitting the theme), so I went with my Classic White Cake with Vanilla Buttercream. 😋 Plus, girlie loves this classic recipe and - honesty hour - she mainly wants the buttercream anyways. 😂 As Glinda is her favorite character, I wanted the outside of the cake to mostly reflect that, so I went with a gorgeous pink color with all over sparkle that looked straight from one of Glinda's outfits. 🫧✨ To balance the look, I piped emerald green borders on the top and bottom of the cake. 🎂

To bring Elphaba into the cake, I decided to have emerald green buttercream in between the layers for a surprise twist when the cake was cut. So easy and so fun to do! Slicing this cake open and hearing 'Yay! Glinda and Elphaba cake!' made my day. ☺️🙌🏻

Happy Celebrating!
